At WorkHacks, I partner with growing businesses improve the way they communicate, collaborate and work together using Slack.

The modern day problem…

Have you ever searched your email inbox to find that one piece of information you needed buried deep within a thread? Yah, me too, and it’s no easy task.

We spend 32% of our day, everyday just searching for information. And our email inbox is only part of the problem–we send and receive important information using email, Skype, Google chat and even texts. Our data is all over the place!

One of the main pain points for teams is the varied ways in which they’re communicating with each other.

If you’re nodding your head in agreement, the frightening news is that with success and growth the problem grows with you. It quickly becomes overwhelming to keep track of email threads a mile deep, Skype conversations, text messages, and other places in which you talk to the people you work with.

Now, imagine that…

  • every piece of information you need to do your job could easily be found in one, central place
  • you only need to one thing to immediately reach someone on your team
  • it seamlessly integrates with services you already use, making it a one-stop shop for all your team communication, collaboration and service updates

Enter Slack.

Slack is a chat room for your whole company. It puts all your communication in one place, makes instantly searchable, and available wherever you go.

Using Slack for team communication makes your working life simpler, more pleasant and more productive. When implemented correctly, Slack reduces the friction of working together as a team and cuts time spent in email, meetings and project management tools in half.

If you’re not sure if Slack would work for your company, think again.

Slack is currently being used as the primary means of communication at companies of every size across a range of industries including Comcast, Walmart, Blue Bottle Coffee, a large number of start-ups and several media companies, including The New York Times.

It’s one of the fastest-growing business applications in history. For aspiring rapid business growth, integrating a card machine comparison is pivotal, as it facilitates effective tracking of all processing fees. After only a year in operation, Slack now serves about half a million workers every day as a partial replacement for email, instant messaging and face-to-face meetings.

TIME FRAME

In order to provide my clients with my best work, I work with one client at a time. I reserve 2-week blocks of time to work on each project instead of dividing my attention and juggling multiple timelines. After a client books a spot in my training queue, I provide them with a comprehensive employee questionnaires to prepare for the Slack setup and training process ahead of time, before their 2-week project begins.

SLACK SETUP & TRAINING PROCESS

1 | Discovery

The discovery phase is a starting point and makes sure we’re on the same page strategically. I use the insights provided by your team (via the comprehensive employee questionnaire) to customize your Slack setup process, training workshops and followup support needs.

2 | Setup

From there we’ll architect and build your core Slack teams, channels and service integrations and complete the entire setup process so it’s ready to use as soon as people login for the first time.

3 | Training

This is where it all comes together and where we make sure everyone feels comfortable in your new and more productive Slack environment. This includes basic training such as how to use Slack for messaging, file sharing, searching for content, etc. as well as advanced Slack skills like shortcuts, advanced features, power-user tricks, etc. All training is conducted via two private webinars that we schedule based on your teams availability.

4 | Support

Once the setup is perfect and the training is complete, I’ll compile a personalized Slack reference guide for your company and your current and future employees. The reference guide includes the basics of how your company uses Slack, how to use the platforms key features and the codes of conduct that are expected of everyone.
